Learning Through Art, Inc.
Welcomes Macy’s; Launches Virtual Exhibition on Fountain Square

CINCINNATI --Cincinnatians have come to expect big things from Kathy Wade and her Over-the-Rhine-based non-profit, Learning Through Art, Inc. because they know she delivers.  And this year is no exception:  LTA presents its 16th year of celebrating the mosaic beauty of our region through summer programming.  “This year, look for ‘bigger and better,’”says Wade, who recently received the Cincinnati Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s President’s Award in June for her use of public relations to build community throughout the Cincinnati region.

Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Virtual Photo Exhibit & Competition

LTA will launch its annual summer events series with a first-ever Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Virtual Photo Exhibition & Kick Off on Thursday, June 24 from 5-7 p.m. presented by Procter & Gamble.  The event will feature the virtual photo exhibition on the Fountain Square Jumbotron at an opening reception to kick off the Cincinnati Snaps competition.  The Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Virtual Exhibition and Competition, now in its fifth year, is a juried art and cultural community engagement project encouraging neighbors to snap photos sharing their view of our neighborhoods through fresh eyes.

LTA will distribute 1,000 free disposable Kroger Snap Cam cameras at the event generously provided through a partnership with the Kroger Co. to kick-off the 2010 Cincinnati Snaps competition, which runs through August 31.  The Virtual Exhibition will remain on display on the Fountain Square Jumbotron through the duration of the competition.
“We’re excited about being able to share views of the region through the eyes of the people who live here,” says Wade.  “And it seems only fitting that it should be shared at the heart of the city – we’re thrilled to be at Fountain Square this year!”  The Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Virtual Competition will showcase photos of winners from the 2008 and 2009 competition.

The Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Photo Exhibition Competition is presented by Learning Through Art, Inc. and sponsored by Kroger, Macy’s and Local 12, WKRC-TV.
Submissions for the 2010 Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Photo Competition are being accepted through August 31 at www.learningthroughart.com. Winning photos will be featured in 2011  Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Exhibits, as well as during weekday on-air morning features on Local 12's Good Morning Cincinnati.
